Description
With a focus based on Chautauqua’s Christian heritage and with an interfaith commitment in spirit and practice, the Department of Religion offers a wide variety of worship services and programs. In addition to interfaith daily worship in the Amphitheater, there are 18 institutional faith communities and religious organizations active on the grounds.
About Your Compensation : Compensation for this position starts at $15.50 / Hour and, with demonstrated experience and qualifications, candidates may earn up to $17.50 / Hour.
Responsibilities
- The Choir Librarians will report directly to the Director of Sacred Music, Organist and provide administrative support as requested.
- Transport music and supplies to rehearsals not held at Amphitheater.
- Fill and empty music folders for the choirs weekly.
- Catalogue, inventory, and shelve purchased music.
- Maintain a roster of singers.
- Prepare mailing list for Director Spring letter.
- Provide support to singers and / or musicians.
- Perform tasks necessary to open (pre-season) and close (post-season) the choir library as well as myriad ancillary tasks that enable the choir program to run over the 9-week seasons.
- Membership in one of the Chautauqua Choirs is desirable but not necessary.
About Your Schedule
Chautauqua Institution and Chautauqua Hotel Company offer flexible schedules, full and part-time, for seasonal employment during summer operations starting annually each June and concluding in August. Seasonal employment may be available earlier (pre-season) and beyond season (post-season) based on business needs and candidate availability. Schedules typically include evenings, weekends, and / or holidays as a requirement.
Will be scheduled to work an average of 20-hours / week. Scheduled hours will include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.

Chautauqua Institution may provide limited housing options on our grounds or assist you with locating nearby housing arrangements for select opportunities based on business needs. Housing is not an option for many positions and may be of a cost to you.
