Job Summary: The Receiving Clerk/Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the receipt of goods and materials into the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation. This role involves coordinating the flow of products, performing inspections, and updating inventory systems to maintain efficient operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
1. Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and damage.
2. Verify shipping documents (e.g., packing slips, bills of lading) and match with physical goods.
3. Ensure all products are labeled correctly and update inventory systems.
4. Record and report discrepancies or damages to suppliers or relevant departments.
5. Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure proper storage and organization of received goods.
6. Communicate with vendors and carriers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
7. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during the receiving process.
8. Maintain an organized and clean receiving area.
9. Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
10. Collaborate with other departments (e.g., shipping, procurement, inventory) to resolve issues.
11. Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize receiving processes.
12. Support the warehouse by performing material handler duties when needed.
13. Receive and unload corn and oil trailers when needed.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications Education and/or Experience
- Requires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma and 6 months to one year related experience to become familiar with equipment and processes.
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Sit down and standup forklift experience preferred.
Required Skills and Qualifications
1. Ability to read and write English.
2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
3. Ability to write simple correspondence.
4. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to team leaders, managers, and other employees of the organization.
5. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
6. Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
7. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job:
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools, or controls; reach above shoulders; and talk and listen.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and use foot/feet to operate machine.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job included close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work at heights using a ladder or man lift.
