Chef Ania’s Gourmet Cuisine is a busy catering company located in Long Island City, Queens -  offering catering for production crew in NYC.
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Sous Chef to take the lead in our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a true passion for food, excellent leadership abilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. They must be punctual, work seamlessly within a team, maintain a positive attitude, and efficiently multitask under pressure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee food preparation during catering events.
  • Maintain a positive and professional kitchen culture.
  • Ensure kitchen staff follow company standards and food safety regulations.
  • Execute and oversee all cooking techniques, including roasting, grilling, sautéing, braising, and sous vide.
  • Ensure food is prepared according to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Handle high-volume cooking while maintaining efficiency and speed.
  • Ensure food is properly cooked, packed, and delivered for off-site catering events.
  • Monitor ingredient stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
  • Minimize food waste and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas.
  • Ensure proper handling of perishable and prepared foods.
 
 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in fast- paced environment
  • Knowledge cooking techniques
  • Strong knife skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Excellent organizational and time- management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • Punctual and possess a good attitude
  • Must have open availability Monday - Saturday,  (6 AM- 5PM)
  • Food Handler’s Certification is a plus
 
 

Salary : $26 - $30
