Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef with a proven track record of working in a professional kitchen. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in creating European-style desserts, laminated doughs, and other high-quality pastries. Attention to detail, consistency, and experience with professional baking equipment are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and craft a wide variety of pastries and desserts, including tiramisu, Basque cheesecake, and tarts.
- Create and manage laminated doughs (e.g., croissant dough) with precision and consistency.
- Produce a variety of European desserts and pastries, ensuring quality and authenticity.
- Operate professional baking equipment, including deck ovens and convection ovens.
- Ensure proper handling of doughs, fillings, and batters to achieve consistent results.
- Follow recipes and procedures meticulously, maintaining high standards for taste and presentation.
- Uphold all food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a pastry chef in a commercial bakery or professional kitchen.
- Expertise in creating laminated doughs such as croissant dough.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality European desserts and pastries.
- Strong knowledge of dough types, fillings, and handling techniques.
- Proficiency with premium baking equipment (deck ovens, convection ovens, mixers, etc.).
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in timing and temperature control.
