Job Summary:
Directs the Enterprise's financial reporting, audits, accounting, forecasting, and financing activities in accordance with applicable professional standards. Plans and conducts complex studies to improve the financial effectiveness of our Chehalis Tribal businesses. Maintains good relations with Chehalis Tribe's CFO and the Financial community.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversight of budgeting, annual audit, accounting, risk management, information systems, forecasting, and reporting for various enterprises.
- Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analysis, and Key Performance Indictors (KPIs) to managers of each enterprise.
- Oversight of the enterprise annual audit, subsidiary audits and reviews and coordinates relevant data for inclusion in the General-Purpose Financial Statements of the Tribe.
- Manages cash flows in enterprises and reports on financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
- Directs and coordinates preparation of annual budgets and business plans for each enterprise.
- Provides and directs oversight of procedures and computer applications, including Sage Intacct and other revenue and inventory systems, needed to maintain proper records and to ensure adequate internal controls.
- Develop and ensure compliance with policies and procedures relating to accounting and finance.
- Prepares studies of business, economic, and financial matters as necessary to assist managers improve business operations.
- Directs or prepares financial due diligence analysis of new business opportunities.
- Directs or assists in financing activities to provide funding for new enterprises.
- May be assigned duties under the Chehalis Tribe Emergency Management Plan and Program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Supervisory Responsibilities: Controller and other staff as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
- Experience: Five years related experience. Strong accounting background. CPA a plus!
Skills & Abilities:
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Computer Skills: Ability to function in the PC environment using WORD and EXCEL programs efficiently with minimal errors. Proficient with accounting software.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Interpersonal Skills: Enjoys working with people. Must be culturally sensitive and have prior experience working with Native Americans on personal and financial issues. Skills in discussion facilitation and problem solving.
