Chelmsford Community Education - Registered Nurses for the Summerfest Program
This will be a Seasonal, non-benefited position running July 7th-August 8th. The weekly hours will vary based on the needs of the program. Program hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ability to work morning and afternoon shifts is preferred.
We are seeking energetic and team-oriented individuals for the position of Registered Nurse for the Summerfest Childcare Program. The program is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and provides care for children entering Grades 1 through 6. Ideally, we would have coverage for the entire day by breaking shifts into AM and PM. However, the work hours of this position are typically 7:00am-4:00 pm, part time shifts may be available. There may be some flexibility on shift times, as well as additional part-time shifts on certain field trip days.
Duties include, but are not limited to: providing health services to students in the Community Education Summerfest Childcare Program; assisting with compilation of medical records for program activities prior to the summer (approximately 20 hours) /during the summer; collecting medical information and preparing records for incoming students; comprehension of the health needs of children; collecting and evaluating student health data to form a nursing diagnosis and nursing care plan; collaborating with school health partners to ensure quality health care is provided to all children; the ability to work with minimal medical supervision; and assistance in supervising children in the Summerfest program when not needed for nursing duties. Further duties include assisting in the supervision of children who have food allergies, coordinating Epi-Pens etc. storage, and acting as a building wide nurse for any/all medical issues.
Requirements include:
• One year of experience as an RN.
• Valid license as a Registered Nurse with the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
• Current and valid certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Strong preference will be given for previous relevant school health experience.
