The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy.
Position: ESY Nurse - LPN
Dates: July 7th - August 7th (Monday - Thursday, no programming on Fridays)
Hours: 7:45 - 12:15 PM
General Description: The LPN will provide 1:1 medical and ADL support for a high school student with specialized health care needs. This position will also support the student with accommodations in the classroom for the student to access learning. There are feeding and toileting needs as part of this student's profile.
Qualifications:
* Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Massachusetts license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
* Valid and current certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and AED from a recognized provider (e.g., American Heart
Association).
* Nursing experience in community or child health. Experience in pediatrics is preferred.
* Understanding of child growth and development
* Ability to think critically and react decisively in emergency situations.
* Demonstrated ability to be an effective communicator with students, staff members, and parents and able to maintain confidentiality.
Physical Demands:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, kneel, and
talk or hear.
* In an emergency, must be able to respond to the location quickly.
* Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pound and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs.
