Special Events-Independent Contractor- Science Teacher

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. Position: Special Events Independent Contractor: Science Teacher Hours: 30-40 hours per week Days: Monday through Friday July 21st-July 25th Location: Chelmsford Community Education We are currently seeking an energetic and fun science teacher for our summer program located at Chelmsford Community Education. Our ideal candidate would be able to commit to providing age-appropriate instruction for grades 1-6. There will be 6 groups of students who rotate through the Science area each day. Activities must include: Hands on Science experiments for each grade group – examples include creating volcanoes, elephant toothpaste, slime and other fun engaging activities. Responsibilities include: 1. Providing age-appropriate instruction for grades 1-6 2. Providing program supervisor with your lesson plan for the week 3. Working directly with groups of children 4. Setting up and cleaning up your workspace 5. Coordinating a short play for students to perform at the end of the week Qualifications: High school graduate and minimum age of 18 years required A degree in the area of job posting is preferred but not required. However, proof of previous experience will be expected. Must be able to pass a CORI check Must have reliable transportation and be punctual Must be available Monday through Friday during dates posted above Must have experience and confidence in managing a classroom of elementary ages students We have opening for various specialist for our summer program, including a PE/ Recreation instructor, Science/STEM instructor, Theater instructor, and Music instructor.
