Position: Special Events Independent Contractor: Theater TeacherHours: 30-40 hours per weekDays: Monday through Friday July 28th-August 1stLocation: Chelmsford Community EducationWe are currently seeking an energetic and fun theater teacher for our summer program located at Chelmsford Community Education. Our ideal candidate would be able to commit to providing age-appropriate instruction for grades 1-6, incorporating group activities such as set/ costume design, and coordinating a short play or production at the end of the week.
Candidate must feel comfortable in a classroom environment, with confidence in managing groups of elementary aged students.Responsibilities include: 1. Providing age-appropriate acting instruction for grades 1-62. Providing program supervisor with your lesson plan for the week3. Working directly with groups of children4.
Setting up and cleaning up your workspace5. Coordinating a short play for students to perform at the end of the weekQualifications: High school graduate and minimum age of 18 years requiredA degree in the area of job posting is preferred but not required. However, proof of previous experience will be expected.Must be able to pass a CORI checkMust have reliable transportation and be punctualMust be available Monday through Friday during dates posted aboveMust have experience and confidence in managing a classroom of elementary ages studentsWe have opening for various specialist for our summer program, including a PE/ Recreation instructor, Science/STEM instructor, and Music instructor.
