Job Summary:
The IEP (Individualized Education Program) Liaison is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of IEPs for students with disabilities. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and collaborates with educators, parents, and service providers to support the educational needs and goals of each student.
This position will work with our current IEP Liasion to accomodate Shore's growing enrollment.
Reports To: Director of Educational Services
Key Responsibilities:
- IEP Development and Coordination:
- Facilitate the creation, review, and modification of IEPs for students with disabilities.
- Schedule and facilitate IEP meetings, ensuring all required team members are present.
- Monitor and document the implementation of IEP goals and accommodations.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the school, parents, school districts, and external agencies regarding IEP matters.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, counselors, and other service providers to ensure appropriate delivery of services and supports.
- Communicate with parents/guardians to schedule and confirm meetings and share evaluations and reports prior to meetings.
- Training and Support:
- Provide training and support to school staff on IEP processes, special education laws, and effective instructional strategies.
- Assist teachers in developing student-centered and data driven IEPs and progress reports.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records for all students with IEPs.
- Prepare and submit required reports to district and state education agencies.
- Ensure timely completion of all IEP-related documentation and adherence to timelines.
- Oversee the implementation of DESE’s new IEP.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working in special education, including experience with IEP development and implementation.
- DESE Certification as a Special Education Administrator will be required, but can be gained in the position.
- DESE Certification in special education or related field required.
- Familiarity with Massachusetts’ new IEP.

- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of educators, parents, and service providers.
- Proficiency in using technology for documentation and communication.
This position is school year only, and is part of the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
