POSITION SUMMARY
The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring timely delivery of materials, goods, and services to support business operations. This role involves managing supplier relationships, placing and tracking purchase orders, following up on order acknowledgments, and expediting late deliveries. The ideal candidate has strong communication and negotiation skills, attention to detail, and experience in procurement and supplier management.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement & Supplier Management:
- Manage supplier relationships. Source and purchase materials, products, and services based on business needs.
- Issue and manage purchase orders (POs) in accordance with company policies.
- Request and confirm order acknowledgments from vendors to ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.
- Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on late deliveries.
- Work closely with vendors to resolve order discrepancies, delays, or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of communications with vendors regarding order status and delays
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Order Tracking & Expediting:
- Contact vendors regularly to track the status of orders and ensure on-time delivery.
- Expedite late or urgent orders by working with suppliers to prioritize shipments.
- Communicate any delays or issues to internal stakeholders and suggest alternative solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of communications with vendors regarding order status and delays
Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare reports on purchasing performance, open orders, and supplier metrics.
- Keep records of procurement transactions, supplier communications, and price changes.
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance based on pricing, quality, and delivery reliability.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Preferred Skills AND ABILITIES
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry
- Strong communication and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices
- Experience in procurement and supplier management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and order tracking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
Salary commensurate with experience.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $62,000.00 per year
