What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Operator position at Chemicals Incorporated?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled entry level chemical process technician to join our team in Baytown. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in learning about chemical processing. This is Entry level company will train.
- Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to other assigned activities.
- Operate Plant equipment to maintain production in a safe and efficient manner
- Review MSDS' for proper chemical handling procedures before running each process
- Operate forklift, vacuum, diaphragm, and centrifugal pumps
- Operate cooling towers, boilers, and hot oil systems
- Operate processing unit in full compliance with EH&S regulations & requirements
- Fabricate pipe as well as structural steel, sandblast, and paint
- Possible miscellaneous welding as directed by management
- Ensure all areas of plant are cleaned and free of hazards
- Assist Maintenance & Construction Departments are directed by Supervisor
- Assist with routine maintenance
- Perform additional work assignment as assigned by Supervisor or Engineer.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma / GED
- 1-2 years of plant environment experience
- Read, write, and speak English proficiently
- Lift up to 50lbs consistently throughout a work period
- Bend, stoop, reach, climb up to 100', stand, and walk for long periods of time without assistance.
- Flexible to work in shifts and to work on the weekend if required
- Work with Tyvek Suit and Full-Face mask during extreme conditions (inclement weather)
Preferred experience
- knowledge in various pumps, cooling towers, boilers, centrifuges and hot oil systems
- Handling hazardous chemicals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
