Line Cooks at Chemistry Chicago

Chemistry Chicago in Chicago, IL is looking for one line cooks to join our team. We are located on 5121 S Harper. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and reliable. We need line cooks to work on our Sunday Morning Brunch shifts.very from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Key responsibilities of a line cook:

• Ingredient preparation: Chopping, slicing, measuring, and prepping all necessary ingredients for assigned dishes. 
• Station management: Setting up and maintaining a clean and organized work station with required equipment and supplies. 
• Cooking food to order: Cooking dishes according to restaurant recipes using various cooking methods like grilling, frying, sauteing, roasting, etc. 
• Communication and teamwork: Collaborating effectively with other line cooks, chefs, and expediters to ensure smooth service. 
• Food safety compliance: Adhering to all food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures. 
• Quality control: Ensuring all dishes are cooked to the proper standard and meet quality expectations. 
• Inventory management: Monitoring ingredient levels and restocking as needed. 
• Plate presentation: Arranging food on plates according to presentation standards. 

Required skills for a line cook:

• Knife skills: Proficient knife handling and cutting techniques
• Cooking knowledge: Understanding of different cooking methods and techniques
• Time management: Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
• Attention to detail: Maintaining consistency in quality and presentation
• Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a demanding environment
• Teamwork and communication: Effectively collaborating with other kitchen staff

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays. Compensation is $16.20 - $18.00/hour.
