Our residents are looking for people like you to help coordinate and execute recreation activities! We are a Part Time Activities Aide!
This position requires every other weekend availability.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs routine work in connection with the conduct of one (1) or more recreation activities in an agency program. Demonstrates readiness and ability to accommodate the needs of all nursing home residents and their families, including LGBT residents. Does related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine work involving the conduct of various recreation activities. The incumbent performs assignments under general supervision and within the guidelines of specific agency policies and programs. Supervision of agency personnel is not normally a responsibility of this position.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (The following work activities are listed as examples only and in no event shall an employee be limited to only those examples listed here.)
Organizes and conducts various recreation activities such as games, music, arts and crafts and special events;
Implements daily schedule of recreation activities;
Encourages groups and individuals to participate in the various recreation activities;
Assists individuals in the actual conduct of the recreation activities;
Keeps records of activities and attendance;
Assists in the preparation and conduct of special events;
Assists volunteers in the organization and conduct of recreation activities;
Operates equipment used in the recreation activities such as movie projectors, record players, etc.;
May administer first aid.
Assures nursing home residents’ safety.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of the organization and conduct of various recreation activities; ability to give and explain simple instructions; ability to get along with others; ability to stimulate and hold the interest of participants; empathy; resourcefulness; tact; courtesy; good physical condition.
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: None is required.

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Rotating weekends
