Nurse Practitioner
Chemung County Health Center is seeking a part time Nurse Practitioner
Typical Work Activities Include:
- Serve as primary practitioner for STI/HIV clinic
- Performs physical examinations;
- Orders laboratory diagnostic testing;
- Diagnoses STIs through clinical presentation, as appropriate;
- Performs patient education and medical record documentation;
- Treats certain STIs through medication or referral to medical specialists;
- Treats sexual partners through Expediated Partner Therapy (EPT) program;
- Participates in communicable disease investigations as it pertains to STI clinic, including documentation in Sate electronic surveillance systems, follow-up on treatment, communication with outside providers, and communication with pharmacies;
- May perform quality assurance reviews, administrative conferences with clinic staff, participate in policy and procedure development and case reviews with medical consultant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a New York State license and current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in good standing.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Either graduation from a Nurse Practitioner education program with specialty in adult or family health acceptable to the New York State Department of Education or certification as a Nurse Practitioner with specialty in adult or family health by a national certifying organization acceptable to the New York State Department of Education at time of appointment.
