Scope Long Term Internship – Spring Semester 20 hours: Summer Semester 40 hours: Fall Semester 20 hours. Seeking interns who can commit to working 20 hours during the school year and 40 hours in the Summer. Major/Key Accountabilities Transport Analyst Day-to-Day Analyze high-dwell trailers, over-pool customers and Trailer-to-Load ratio (TLR)Propose recommendations and implement solutions Analyze Line Haul and Private Fleet overspend lanes.Propose recommendations and implement solutions to reduce cost per load Review On Time Performance (OTP) for carriers, service centers & customer. Propose recommendations and implement solutions to improve service Monitor Spot Market. Propose recommendations and implement solutions to reduce Spot use Bid Line Haul freight to the market. RFP, optimization models, mini-bids, Dynamic Fleet Optimization (DFO) Examine Tender Load Acceptance (TLA). Propose recommendations and implement solutions to increase acceptance rate Analyze Customer Collaboration Overlays. Private Fleet, Customer Pick Up (CPU) & Self-return lanes and rates Project Management Contract Negotiations. Expirations/Renewals Market Bids. Executing the bid, analyzing results, presenting recommendations Customer collaboration projects. Find opportunities and present recommendations Measures Brambles Initiative Savings Customer Satisfaction CHEP USA On Time Performance Key contacts Internal Logistics, Planning, Operations, Sales and Customer Service External Carrier Partners, 3rd Party Plant management groups Qualifications Essential Currently Enrolled in Undergraduate degree program in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent (Education in Process) Preferred Rising Juniors Strong analytical skills Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Experience 1 years Transportation Logistics Experience Preferred 1 years Transportation Procurement Preferred Skills and Knowledge SAP, BluJay TMS, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook) Project management skills Detail Oriented Ability to multi-task and operate under pressure to meet deadlines Displays a sense of urgency and positive outlook Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Languages Essential English Critical Competencies for Performance Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
