- Implement evidence-based interventions and strategies to promote positive behavior change in children and adolescents
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment
- Monitor progress and evaluate effectiveness of treatment plans
- Provide crisis intervention and support as needed
- Provides one-on-one direct behavioral intervention with children/youth.
- Serves as a positive role model for the child/youth.
- Provides time-structured activities.
- Provides immediate behavioral reinforcements.
- Provides age-appropriate life skills and coping mechanisms.
- Develops behavioral treatment plans with the input of the treatment team leader.
- Assists the child/youth to engage in, or remain engaged in, appropriate activities.
- Help to minimize the child/youth’s impulsive behavior.
- Help to increase the child/youth’s social and community competencies by building or reinforcing daily living skills that will assist the child/youth in living successfully at home and in the community.
- Assists in developing the child/youth’s ability to sustain self-directed appropriate behavior, internalize a sense of social responsibility, and/or enable participation proactively in community activities.
- Ensures the safety of the client at all times during the provision of Behavioral Services; remains responsive to the client’s needs.
- Verifies the authorization for medical treatment forms and any other required forms are completed and on file.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding child/youth and his/her family.
- Reports incidences of suspected of child abuse in compliance with mandated reporting requirements.
- Communicates professionally at all times.
- Attends ongoing supervision meetings as required; participates in case conferences and related meetings as directed.
- Complete all paperwork within a 72 hour time frame.
- Transport clients when needed to court appearances, visits with family, school, or other imperative appointments.
- Assists in direct care and management of children and adolescents.
- Provides supervision, safety, and crisis management for clients.
- Fosters a safe environment.
- Ensures clients' rights are observed.
- Acts as an advocate in providing safe delivery of care to promote wellness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral or emotional challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
-Bachelor's degree (Human Service Degree) with 3 years experience working with children and families
-Master's degree (Human Service Degree) with 1 year experience with working with children and families
* Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
