What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Representative position at Cherokee Freight Lines?
POSITION
We are currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative with a passion for sales and exceptional customer service skills. This professional will be primarily focused on being on the road, visiting current and potential customers. The goal of these visits will be to secure meetings with decision-makers, ask questions and listen to what challenges they are faced with that we might have solutions for.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular visits to current and potential customers to build relationships and gather information.
- Secure meetings with decision-makers to discuss potential business opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior sales associates to ensure successful follow-up on opportunities.
- Generate sales leads through field visits and networking.
- Gather market intelligence to identify new opportunities and inform sales strategies.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal teams to ensure alignment on customer expectations.
- Assist in resolving service issues by working closely with the operations team to meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
- Participate in industry events to network and promote the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and nurture customer relationships.
- Background understanding of transportation or logistics would be a plus.
- Background understanding of the Food and Beverage industry would be a plus.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout northern California for customer visits.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Base salary Commission
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
