Weekend Kennel Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of pet behavior. This role involves providing high-quality care for animals in our facility, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Duties

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff.
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas, ensuring a hygienic environment.
• Support customer service efforts by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and behaviors.
• Assist in training and socializing dogs to promote good behavior and adaptability.
• Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred.
• Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and general animal behavior is beneficial.
• Familiarity with veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus.
• Strong customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
