The Director Compensation and Team Member Services is responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs that align with organizational goals. This position also oversees the HR Response team, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of team member inquiries related to benefits and other HR matters.
- Provide strategic direction and operational management of the company’s compensation program.
- Lead the development, review, and administration of base salary programs, including job analysis, job evaluation, and salary structures.
- Direct the collection and analysis of market-based compensation data and recommend adjustments.
- Partner with colleagues to communicate compensation strategies and their impact on business outcomes.
- Evaluate and improve existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Provide subject matter expertise and guidance to HR and company leadership.
- Research and analyze market trends and best practices in compensation.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation.
- Manage the compensation and HR Response department budgets.
- Select, organize, coach, and develop staff to deliver high-quality services.
- Manage vendor relationships related to compensation planning.
- Ensure excellent customer service from the HR Response team.
- Drive ongoing improvement of HR Response processes and service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree required together with 8-10 years of experience administering base compensation programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with job evaluation, market pricing, salary surveys, merit pay, and performance evaluation.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
- Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Proven leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to be a flexible and proactive problem solver.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and influence.
- Ability to draft policies and guidelines.
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal, financial, economic, and tax issues related to compensation.
- Knowledge of compliance matters related to compensation.
- Ability to ensure best practices in customer service delivery.
- Advanced Excel skills.
