What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Design Specialist position at Cherokee Nation?
Uses Learning Principles and Instructional Design Methodology (analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates) to create and maintain comprehensive programs (instructor-led, student-led, and asynchronous) for a global learning audience.
Job Duties:Supports and leads the collection, evaluation, and analysis of course/curriculum subject matter for the creation of various assigned lessons/sessions/initiatives and/or designated learning priorities. Develops and maintains action items for associated projects, tasks, and works with Cherokee Language stakeholders to ensure project progresses on-time and within scope. Supports overall data analysis, conclusions, and presentations related to instructional design and/or task completion and findings. Provides support services to include: Initiates/Plans/Assists/Attends various client meetings; takes/records minutes and notes; disseminates meeting minutes/notes to Cherokee Language stakeholders. Facilitates designated training meetings; prepares training facilitation material; disseminates training facilitation results to Cherokee Language stakeholders. Captures and follows-up on outstanding actions associated with Curriculum meetings, facilitation, and projects (as designated). Collects, evaluates, and analyzes training program data; creates/develops training reports. Develops and prepares training briefings and support materials. Crafts/Writes curriculum content in support of varying projects, activities, and initiatives. Defines and documents training roles and responsibilities. Identifies key players and inter-relationships. Provides instructional designing/training, project planning, scheduling, and administrative support services. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university; no substitutions.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional five (5) years of experience in an agency or cultural organization or related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should know the Database, Design, Development, Internet, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Depending on work location, may be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
