Responsible for planning and delivering public recreation activities within a community.
Job Duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts activities in support of program planning to meet community needs. Incorporates marketed initiatives to satisfy audiences throughout activities and/or events.
- Assists with the coordination and communication with vendors as necessary.
- Organizes volunteer program selection, onboarding, and support activities.
- Communicates with senior management to design programs, utilize resources, and ensure event strategies are represented.
- Maintains event documentation and may assist with the creation of event budgets.
- Maintains safety regulations in accordance with recreational standards.
- Will referee/officiate recreation activities and events as needed.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Works under immediate supervision.
- Has beginning knowledge of the field.
- Assignments are simple and require little to no latitude, creativity, or judgement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a high school diploma, and 0 to 2 years of experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
- May be required to possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
- May be required to meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
- Must be certified in CPR within 6 months and maintain throughout employment.
