JOB SUMMARYOversee the design and maintenance of the Cherry Creek School District’s and schools’ public websites. Design unified and accessible web structures that align with the District’s mission, goals, policies, and programs. Create visually compelling and user-friendly layouts that enhance the District’s online presence while ensuring consistency across all web platforms. Combine technical expertise in web design with creative vision to deliver innovative solutions that support effective communication and engagement. Focus on establishing a web presence that represents the District’s values and activities in a professional and cohesive manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. 1.

Design, plan, and maintain the District’s public websites to align with the District’s mission, goals, and policies while ensuring a positive and consistent presence across all websites. Daily 20%

2.

Provide training and ongoing support to school and department website users on technical aspects of the platform and best practices for maintaining content aligned with branding and design consistency. Daily 15%

3.

Coordinate with Communication Services to identify needs, strategies, and goals that maximize the effectiveness of websites as marketing and communication tools, ensuring current and accurate content. Daily 10%

4.

Deliver training and support on accessibility best practices, helping the District progress toward compliance with WCAG standards. Weekly 10%

5.

Monitor website traffic and analytics to enhance user experience by improving design, layout, and architecture across District and school websites. Weekly 10%

6.

Develop, maintain, and communicate policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures for publishing documents on websites. Weekly 10%

7.

Enhance visual appeal and engagement on website pages, partnering with schools and departments to achieve their objectives. Weekly 10%

8.

Collaborate with Information Systems to integrate programming enhancements and ensure functionality and site performance. Quarterly 10%

9.

Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.

  • Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, web development, digital marketing, or similar field
  • Three (3) years of professional work experience in web design, publishing, public relations, social media management, multimedia production, communications, or marketing
  • Graphic design experience producing web-ready graphics and documents optimized for web delivery
  • Basic knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and office technology
  • Basic knowledge of project management and process development techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of current web standards and willingness to learn, grow, and apply new technologies as tools emerge
  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced technical skills, including experience with content management systems, web standards, HTML, information design and site analytics
  • Ability to support people individually or in group training
  • Ability to maintain integrity of confidential information regarding all business matters

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other qualifications relevant to the position that are strongly preferred but not mandatory for a candidate to be considered.

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in web design, publishing, public relations, social media management, multimedia production, communications, or marketing
  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
  • Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
