Cherry Health AmeriCorps is a health-focused AmeriCorps program located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This long-standing program is a recipient of the new Public Health AmeriCorps funding, forming a partnership between AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The focus of Cherry Health AmeriCorps is to decrease health disparities in underserved communities by providing evidence-based health education, Medicaid enrollment assistance, and supportive services to bridge gaps is health care. Cherry Health is the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in Michigan, with members serving in the greater Grand Rapids area.
Cherry Health AmeriCorps provides a diverse and engaging team environment through monthly team meetings and service projects. All members receive Community Health Worker training as well as professional and personal development to prepare members for future educational and career goals. Monthly service projects at local non-profits give members the opportunity to positively impact the community above and beyond their service assignments and expand networking opportunities. Members are encouraged to take on leadership roles within the team.

Service Contract
- 1700 total service hours minimum
- 52 weeks maximum
- 35 hours per week
- Other service terms may be available for 1200, 900, and 675 hours at a part-time capacity (20 hours per week)
Compensation & Benefits (for 1700 hours term of service/35 hours per week, amounts prorated for terms under 1700 annual/35 weekly)
- $26,000 annual living allowance ($1,000 biweekly)
