We are accepting applications for our summer 2025 season which runs from June through September in Glen Arbor, MI.
Summary of Position:
Cherry Republic’s Ice Cream Scooper helps to provide a quality customer service experience by assisting customers and providing overall support to Public House Staff. This person will work from the Ice Cream Container serving various flavors of ice cream and shakes to customers during the summer. We are looking for individuals ages 14 or older to fill this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Cherry Republic’s Ice Cream Scooper helps to provide a quality customer service experience by assisting customers and providing overall support to Public House Staff. This person will work from the Ice Cream Container serving various flavors of ice cream and shakes to customers during the summer. We are looking for individuals ages 14 or older to fill this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet all customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
- Fulfill customer requests with ice cream purchases.
- Prep and serve all offered ice cream dishes, including scoops, sundaes, and milkshakes.
- Record customer orders into the POS System.
- Identify customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to correct them.
- Perform returns and special transactions through the POS System.
- Keep the ice cream cooler stocked with all necessary items.
- Clean and organize the ice cream container when necessary to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
- Maintain and clean the ice cream cooler to keep frost levels down and eliminate cross-contamination.
- Assist assigned maintenance staff with outdoor cleaning if necessary.
- Notify management of all customer and POS System issues.
- Perform other related duties as requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Ice Cream Scooper reports to the Public House Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Language Skills - Ability to read. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, customers, managers, and the general public.
- Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, you should have knowledge of our POS system and Microsoft and Google platforms.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to communicate accurately, timely, and thoroughly to customers and staff.
- Physical Requirements - Ability to be on foot for long periods of time standing and walking in the ice cream container with the stamina to stand stationary when using the POS system. Frequently lifting 25 lbs or more throughout a 6 hour shift. Must be able to reach, bend, and crouch. Occasional outside maintenance is required (i.e. snow shoveling, sweeping).
