Position: Sanitation Technician
Location: Empire, MI (On-site)
Summary of Position:
Cherry Republic’s Sanitation Technician is responsible to coordinate, schedule and complete daily, weekly, monthly and yearly sanitation of production equipment, as well cleaning, sanitation, and general maintenance of Cherry Factory and Distribution Fulfillment Center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform nightly duties of rinsing, cleaning and sanitation on all equipment within the Jar Production room.
- Clean and disinfect floors; including floor drains and floor mats in all Productions rooms.
- Mop the Commercial Bakery and Assembly area once a week or as needed.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment as needed for sanitation purposes.
- Mix and utilize chemicals in a safe and effective manner to comply with OSHA regulations.
- Take out all garbage daily and adhere to CR recycling standards.
- Comply with all safety standards put forth.
- Maintain tracking records of chemicals and sanitation supplies.
- Continued knowledge and proficiency regarding equipment operations, sanitation techniques, and overall quality of cleanliness of all equipment as well as facilities.
- Perform daily cleaning and stocking of DFC and Cherry Factory restrooms, break rooms, corridors and test kitchen.
- Perform daily laundry needs that include washing, drying, folding and turn-over of all in house towels, aprons etc.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Sanitation Technician reports to the Sanitation and Maintenance Supervisor without any supervisory responsibilities.

- Education and / or Experience- Minimum of High School / G.E.D required.
- Language Skills- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions.
- Mathematical Skills- Ability to calculate figures and amounts when analyzing data.
- Reasoning Ability- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to communicate issues accurately and thoroughly to all individuals involved. Assist in the development of solid procedures/practices that follow appropriate accounting principles.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, you should have basic computer skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to walk / be on feet between buildings approximately 70% of the time when performing primary job duties. Capability to lift boxes weighing approximately 50-70 lbs, push large wheeled carts, and moving of floor equipment when necessary.
