Position: 2nd Shift Sanitation Team Member 3pm-11pm
Summary
As a Sanitation Technician, you will be essential in maintaining a clean and safe environment within our bakery and food production areas. Reporting to the Food Safety Manager, your core skills in industrial cleaning and sanitation will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Your strong communication and computer skills will aid in documenting sanitation processes effectively. Join our team to contribute to the quality and safety of our bakery operations.
Sanitation Operations
· Rinse, foam, scrub and sanitize production equipment ensuring that all areas meet SHB management standards.
· Work cooperatively with the Maintenance Department to ensure internal parts of equipment are cleaned and sanitized.
· Responsible to ensure that all processing machinery is cleaned to specification of all food safety regulations and guidelines to minimize potential food safety risks.
· Maintain accurate sanitation documentation and ensure the proper completion of Master Sanitation Schedule as required.
· Follow all company policies, GMPs, Food Safety, OHSA Regulations, SOPs.
· Maintain and complete sanitation paperwork and/or enter into a computer database system.
· Work with chemicals and follow chemical usage labels for application and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Conduct self-inspections after cleaning to ensure cleanliness.
· Train employees as required.
· Clean bakery equipment
Compliance and Safety
· Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.
· Investigate and address sanitation related incidents or non-compliance issues.
· Adhere to and enforce all quality, food safety and safety protocols.
Inventory and Maintenance
· Assists in maintaining and enhancing the Chemical Control Program including ordering, receiving, transporting, storing, inventory, labeling, SDS’s, diluting, and use of sanitation chemicals.
· Maintain cleaning chemicals inventory and Chemical Room
· Notify management to replenish chemicals and sanitation supplies as needed
Communication and Collaboration
· Report sanitation issues to management and propose solutions.
· Communicate any Sanitation concerns to bakery employees.
Required Skills
· Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices.
· Attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
· Ability to work day and evening shifts, overtime, and weekend and holiday hours.
· Knowledge and understanding of Sanitation equipment.
· Understanding of various chemicals and sanitation procedures preferred
