Summary
The Bereavement Coordinator is responsible for maintenance and coordination of care for the patient and family experiencing perinatal loss while under the guidance and direction of the Nurse Manager. The Bereavement Coordinator practices within the guidelines of the Nursing Care standards and hospital policies and procedures and manages required staff training and education in conjunction with the assigned Nurse Educator. Additionally, the Bereavement Coordinator coordinates across disciplines for the support and follow up of care with families who have experienced loss and serves as the primary point of contact for community outreach services addressing perinatal loss.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Significant related experience (3-5 years), Perinatal Loss Training completion (within 3 months of hire)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
If a licensed professional, would need to maintain applicable licensure
