We are seeking a compassionate and organized Cemetery Director to oversee daily operations, including financial management, property maintenance, staff supervision, and sales. The Director will report to the Board of Directors and supervise office staff, the grounds supervisor, and the grounds crew.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth scheduling of funerals and dedications.
- Sales: Assist families in pre-need and at-need grave purchases.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgets, oversee bookkeeping, and approve expenditures.
- Property Maintenance: Ensure proper upkeep of cemetery grounds and facilities.
- Staff Supervision: Hire, train, and manage administrative and maintenance staff.
- Community Relations: Engage with families with empathy, coordinate with clergy across all Jewish denominations, and uphold Orthodox Jewish laws and traditions.
- Grant Writing and Fundraising: Develop and implement strategies to secure financial support through grants and donations.
- Social Media Management: Manage and enhance the organization's presence on social media platforms to engage the community and promote services.
Qualifications:
- Experience in financial management and operations oversight.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
- Ability to read Hebrew.
- Experience in cemetery management or related fields is a plus.
