What are the responsibilities and job description for the (4) Workforce Development Associates (0.5 FTE) position at Chester County Intermediate Unit?
Four (4) vacancies for grant funded Workforce Development Associate positions exists within the Division of Career, Technical and Customized Education of the Chester County Intermediate. The position operates in TCHS Campuses and community locations to meet the grant expectations. The employee is responsible for coordinating with other TCHS personnel to assist with overall implementation of the pre-apprenticeship, re-entry and veteran programs and all activities must be in accordance with the Department of Education and the granting organization’s regulations.
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for providing direct implementation of training and follow up support for specialty grant funded populations enrolled in CCIU programs (example: re-entry, pre-apprenticeship and veterans). Responsible to assist these populations to gain knowledge and skills associated with career readiness and exploration as well as retention. The Associate assists the program support coordinator in all aspects of student programming and collects ongoing data on student progress as well as assists with other tasks associated with the operation of the program.
Essential Job Skills
This position is contingent upon sufficient enrollment and pending no change in grant funding.
CCIU is not responsible for the salary if the grant is not funded.
SCHEDULE: Up to 18.75 hours per week, up to 100 days per year.

Essential Job Skills
- Organizes daily learning parameters for the program and/or for individual students or small groups on activities directed by the grant application
- Collect data on student progress; record, analyze and report data as required by grant application or grantor.
- Create the learning environment which may mean transporting supplies and equipment to community locations
- Develop schedules to accommodate community location needs and grant requirements
- May transport participants to programs or community events
- Communicate with community organizations to recruit, retain or promote student success
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma required; College degree in education or psychology preferred.
- Previous experience in education and demonstrating ability to relate well to others is desired.
- Current (within one year) police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
