Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities:
Assists in accounting policy revisions to comply with the treasurer's office and governmental regulations.
Report Preparation:
State Department of Education Reimbursement Claim Form and financial report, meal reimbursement for breakfast, lunch, snack, super snack and supper programs. School Cafeteria Financial Reports. Special Billings. Invoices grant administrator for travel to deliver meals for their program. Parent Involvement- Informs and invoices grant administrator for meals served for their program.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, state and federal regulations related to cost accounting and office operations. Working knowledge of food service, purchasing and accounting procedures of state and federal regulations concerning grant administration and accounting and County electronic data processing systems. Considerable skill in the use of utilizing spreadsheets, word processing, database software. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and to work and coordinate the work of others; understand, interpret and apply Federal and State guidelines and regulations; work independently, pay attention to detail and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, finance or a related field; two years of experience in providing professional-level administrative, analytical and/or operational support. An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of the preferred level of education. Valid VA Driver's License. This position requires the incumbent to drive. In accordance with Policy 5431, an employee who occupies the position and is assigned a district-owned or leased motor vehicle will be subject to annual driving checks and must maintain acceptable records pursuant to the standards set forth in the policy.

Essential Job Functions:
- Assists the Director of School Nutrition in planning and directing department activities as it relates to financial management.
- Supervises accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, procurement, vending program and meal application program. Reviews and approves invoices for payment.
- Reviews payroll records.
- Prepares monthly and annual financial statements for the department of School Nutrition as well as for individual schools.
- Analyzes and reconciles financial records and makes adjustments as needed. Reconciles School Nutrition accounts with the department of accounting
- Assists in the development of short- and long-range plans to ensure continued growth and ability to remain on the competitive edge to meet the current needs of the department.
- Coordinates and assists in all department audits.
- Prepares and plans budget; advises the director on controlling budget expenditures.
- Schedules and supervises school nutrition accounting staff's work to ensure accuracy.
- Reviews all credit card purchases, travel requests, special function billing, change fund, and vending.
- Prepares all Federal Program applications Prepares and submits State Reimbursement Claim Reports to the Virginia Department of Education.
- Coordinates and supervises all budget and financial related matters for School Nutrition.
- Performs related work as required.
