General Description
The Coordinator of Instructional Technology leads the daily operations of the Office of Instructional Technology and the instructional aspects of the implementation of the Division Technology Plan, as well as the Central Library Services office. This position provides primary oversight of the district’s digital content strategy, to include planning, acquisition, and management of digital resources, and is responsible for determining and implementing access and appropriate roles and permissions for users within instructional applications. The Coordinator also provides leadership, professional learning, and centralized support for school-based instructional designers, and informs technology policy development and implementation. Complex work is performed within specific departmental objectives and policies; employee plans own work and coordinates with others as necessary; considerable professional judgment is required.
Essential Job Functions
- Leads the daily operations of the Office of Instructional Technology.
- Collaborates with Division of Technology Services Coordinators to ensure effective implementation of division projects.
- Plans and oversees the implementation of sustained centralized leadership, support, and professional development for school-based instructional designers.
- Develops and updates procedural documentation to support the work of the Office of Instructional Technology and school-based instructional designers.
- Manages centralized support for school-based innovation initiatives.
- Provides primary oversight of the division digital content strategy to include planning, acquisition, and management of digital resources.
- Assists with the division application approval process.
- Coordinates with the Department of Curriculum Development and Support to prepare bids and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for digital content and instructional technology acquisitions.
- Evaluates and assists in the implementation of the most beneficial means of technical integration for instructional applications.
- Provides leadership in planning, promoting, training, and supporting the work of users in the division’s Learning Management System.
- Determines and leads the implementation of access and appropriate roles and permissions for users within instructional applications.
- Manages the division dashboard of instructional applications.
- Manages the Google Administrator Console.
- Provides management oversight of the Central Library Services office and related staff, to include material and services acquisitions.
- Provides management oversight of the Office of Instructional Technology and related staff.
- May perform other related duties as assigned.
Budgetary Responsibility:
Plans and manages the Instructional Technology, Central Library Services, textbook, and digital content budgets, with the consultation of the Director of Network Services.

Qualifications
Considerable knowledge of blended learning, instructional technology, emerging trends in technology, research methods, project management techniques, human resources practices, and budget management. Demonstrated skill in the use of personal computers utilizing G-suite productivity tools (spreadsheet, word processing and database software). Demonstrated ability in decision making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, interpersonal relationships, program management, research, and planning. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to train, supervise, and advise staff.
Requirements
Education, training, or experience sufficient to demonstrate the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education or related field, with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision, and at least 5 years of district-level technology leadership experience.
