Job Summary:

The Human Resource/Payroll Manager will help facilitate the hiring and interviewing of staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Payroll Manager will process weekly payroll and maintain employee time records.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· Recruits, interviews, hires, and train new staff within the office.

· Help with onboarding new hires for the entire company.

· Oversees the benefits and insurance programs and policies and renewals.

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations for office admin staff, assist other departments as needed or requested.

· Helps handle and facilitate discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

· Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

· Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.

· Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.

· Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.

· Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.

· Ability to Speak Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.

· A minimum of three years of human resource management experience preferred.

· Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times.

· Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

· Work Location: In Person

· Schedule: Monday – Friday, very occasional Saturdays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $59,800.00 per year
