Position Summary: The Residential Weekend Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting the weekend operations of Chesterwye Center’s residential homes. This role ensures continuity of care and quality services during weekend shifts by providing direct oversight, guidance to staff, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The Residential Weekend Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for weekend residential operations, supports staff coverage, monitors documentation and medication procedures, and ensures a safe and supportive environment for the individuals served. This position plays a critical role in maintaining service excellence and operational consistency outside of standard weekday hours.
Primary Job Function(s):
- Oversees the day-to-day weekend operations of assigned residential homes in compliance with all applicable regulations and Chesterwye Center standards.
- Maintains professionalism and serves as a role model for weekend staff, fostering a positive and respectful work environment.
- Supports the implementation of staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all weekend shifts.
- Provides hands-on supervision and guidance to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure the highest quality of weekend care and support.
- Train weekend staff on individual’s PCPs and BPs annually or as needed.
- Conducts weekend checks of service documentation and medication books; reports errors or omissions to the Program Coordinator and completes necessary audit forms.
- Reviews and submits documentation for incident reports, seizure logs, fire drills, inventories, activity calendars, and supply needs completed over the weekend.
- Supports the execution of planned leisure activities to promote meaningful engagement for individuals supported.
- Ensures all residential homes and assigned vehicles are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized manner during weekend hours.
- Responds appropriately to emergencies in accordance with Chesterwye policies and reports all incidents to the on-call administrator and/or Program Coordinator.
- Monitors weekend medication administration and documentation; reports concerns to the nurse and Program Coordinator immediately.
- Conducts fire drills and water temperature checks as scheduled over the weekend and ensures all logs are completed.
- Verifies that vehicle logs, gas receipts, and facility reports are completed and submitted in iCare Manager within required timeframes.
- Ensures that flow charts, behavioral data, and daily documentation are completed accurately by weekend staff.
- Assists with facility needs or maintenance issues reported over the weekend and initiates appropriate follow-up.
- Communicates regularly with the Program Coordinator and other leadership staff regarding weekend operations, issues, or support needs.
- Supports weekend shift coverage as needed and provides direct care support as assigned.
- Utilizes technology systems (iCare Manager, email, etc.) for documentation and communication purposes.
- Attends required training and in-service meetings as scheduled.
- Maintains consistent attendance and flexibility to work on weekends or holidays as needed. Able to work at different locations throughout the weekends.
- Demonstrates cooperation and collaboration with coworkers, supervisors, persons supported, and community partners.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned to support weekend operations.
- Certifications required: Mandt, CPR/First Aid, CMT, etc. The certification of these three must be completed within the first 3-month of hire
- Maintain all trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compliance:
- Remain up to date and ensure all team members are trained on the changes to an individual’s PCP and individual-specific training.
- Ensure all other mandatory trainings and certifications are completed in the required timeframe for yourself.
- Ensure completion of daily service notes, daily attendance, and other required documentation by DSPs. Provide feedback and re-training when necessary.
- Monitor that all team member injuries are immediately documented and reported to the appropriate HR representative.
- Ensure homes and vehicles are well maintained, and request assistance from other support departments if needed.
- Advocate for the health and safety of people supported.
Communicating with medical personnel during hospitalizations/rehab to ensure medical needs are met during their stay and upon discharge
Education:
- High School Diploma; Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience:
- At least two years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities, working on the weekends, and one year of supervisory experience.
- Must have access to personal use of a vehicle to conduct agency business, including the transportation of supported individuals.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record as determined by criteria established by Chesterwye’s insurance carrier and Chesterwye policy.
Working Conditions:
- Weekend (Friday 3 PM -11 PM, Saturday and Sunday 9 AM – 11 PM) Must be flexible
- On-call weekends are required.
- Some lifting up to 50 lbs.
