CRCSI is hiring a full time Medical Records technician to work in our Uniontown, PA outpatient office located at 100 New Salem Road. The Medical Records position operates Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with slight variations of schedule adjustments. This position is responsible for working as part of the Medical Records team to maintain and process medical records in a secure, efficient, and compliant manner
- Perform all duties with stringent attention to detail to ensure medical record information is accurate, secure, and in full compliance with federal/state regulations and organizational standards
- Provide seamless and secure access, exchange, and use of electronic health information
- Scan and attach paper documents into the EHR
- Obtain and incorporate treatment information and discharge summaries on referrals and hospital discharges.
- Obtain and incorporate into Electronic Health Record (EHR) paper and electronic referral information, external treatment records, and external documents
- Process chart closures
- Obtain client informed consents for release of protected health information (PHI)
- Provide information and assistance for clients to access their electronic health records
- Process outgoing mail and collect and distribute incoming mail CRCSI that comes through the Medical Records building site
- Professionally handle telephone calls, faxes, and electronic transmissions
- Back up other Medical Records Team members and as needed and assigned perform Medical Records duties routinely assigned to other Medical Records Team members including process of client requests for records, external requests for records, and assisting in tracking and preparing records for long term storage and for destruction.
- Run reports and disseminate information
- When needed and assigned, assist other department by performing processes related to medical records, reports, tracking, and any administrative or support services
Essential Job Functions:
- Ability to maintain regulatory compliance including but not limited to Pennsylvania Confidentiality, HIPAA Privacy Standards, CURES Act, and CRCSI Policies and Procedures
- Ability to professionally relate and effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing to all internal and external customers, including clients and their representatives.
- Possess willingness to learn, ability to process information and effectively adapt to change
- Extended sitting and standing, and completing tasks using computer, fax, telephone, scanner, copier, in addition to carrying and transporting paper records
- Strong computer skills in relation to electronic health record and transmission of electronic health information
- Ability to function and perform duties both as a team and independently

- Strict attention to detail with high compliance of standards
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position candidates should have a high school diploma or a GED. Preferred candidates will have vocational training, or an associate's degree related to medical records, medical office administration, information technology, healthcare, or business. Candidates must be able to comply with requirements for approved clearances of a FBI Criminal Clearance, PA State Criminal Clearance, and Child Abuse Clearance.
