Purpose / Introduction
Chevron Phillips Chemical (CPChem) is seeking a Planning Manager to join the Finance team for the Golden Triangle Polymers (GTP) facility located in Orange, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the design, startup, and operation of a new plant from the ground up.
The Planning Manager position is responsible for managing the planning and budgeting process for Golden Triangle Polymers (GTP), developing presentations for board meetings, plant reviews and other special requests, as well as coordinating reporting and other special projects for the Joint Venture. Following startup, the job functions will transition to a more traditional role characterized by normal plant operations. This position reports directly to the GTP Finance Manager but will also support the GTP Plant Manager / Vice President.
This position will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will transition to ongoing operations following commissioning and startup with an expected commitment through stable start-up operations.
Responsibilities
Support Golden Triangle Polymers commercial agreement through approval processes, business analysis, decision support, GTP budget consolidation, joint venture interfaces, and other special projects
Act as manufacturing advisor to support GTP helping to ensure compliance with JV agreements
Develop GTP presentations as requested for Board of Directors meetings, town hall meetings, plant reviews, executive visits, and other events as needed
Provide analytical support for GTP budget process - deliverables include : Planning Calendar, Strategic Plan, Capital Budget, Staffing outlook, Operating budget analysis
Support audits of GTP
Handle other special projects as requested by the GTP Finance Manager or GTP Plant Manager / Vice President
Stakeholder Relations
Primary contacts are within GTP Management Team as well as CPChem Olefins & Polymers SBU, Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Commercial & Corporate Finance, product line business management and analysts, and corporate planning functions. Position will also have engagement with GTP BOD and BOD representatives to assist in governance processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Chemical industry
Successful candidate must possess outstanding analytical and communication skills
Computer skills required : Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Power Bl
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial and financial modeling experience; analysis of manufacturing operations
Computer skills desired : SharePoint, SAP MM / Fl / CO modules, Planful
Master’s degree in business administration
Manufacturing or business experience in olefins or polyethylene
