The purpose of this role is to maximize REG work force capabilities through prioritizing, planning and scoping of maintenance work orders at the Geismar facility. The I&E Maintenance Planner will assist in backlog reviews and prioritization activities with Production and Maintenance Supervision. The Planner will scope work orders to estimate cost, labor, materials, equipment, and special tool requirements to complete the job in a safe and cost-effective manner. This position is also responsible for ensuring the plant is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Comply with the Maintenance Planner roles and responsibilities defined in the REG Geismar Work Management Process
Backlog Management, including weekly and monthly backlog reviews, purging aged work orders are required by the Work Management Process to effectively manage maintenance work
Participate in the weekly Maintenance Backlog Management meeting
Develop job steps for work to be performed including – resource requirements (crafts and durations), parts and materials, special tools and equipment, technical info/sketches/drawings, safety/environmental requirements, Management of Change (MOC) information and QA/QC needs.
Conversion of the output of maintenance program development to structured work templates
Collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel to ensure that all backlog work is appropriately prioritized, planned, scheduled, and executed.
Controlling work orders from the 'Approved' to ‘Ready to Schedule’ status.
Provide planning support during turnarounds as required.
Create PO requisitions for parts and external maintenance services as required.
Determine the required parts on each work order in the backlog; verifying parts are available and ordering parts as necessary
Provide time, resource and cost estimates for work to be performed.
Order and kit materials for specific jobs as needed.
Work with Operations to ensure equipment availability.
Participate in daily and weekly Maintenance and Operations planning
Support Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.
Complete Monthly computer-based training
Assist in the development and maintenance of cost forecasting and budgets
Review completed PMs and update agreed changes to parts list and tasks
Review Condition Based Monitoring task lists and update agreed changes
Track and report of select Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Power User
Participate in the Work Management process by providing schedule input, execution oversight, and daily schedule control.
Assure compliance of proper safety, quality and environmental requirements in work.
Work as a field coordinator, zone coordinator, or assist in a coordinator type role during Turnaround Execution.
Effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and achieves results with minimal supervision.
Other frequent duties:

Assist maintenance, engineering and operations management as needed
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated attention to detail
Ability to read and understand process flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications, and drawings
Knowledge of common production equipment such as centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors, gearboxes, motors, electrical distribution systems, instrumentation systems and fixed equipment
Knowledge of standard industrial safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, hot work permit, elevated work, blinding, isolations, purging, mobile equipment operation and permitting
Knowledge of standard maintenance and repair procedures such as instrument calibrations, electrical testing and maintenance of motors, sub stations and electrical distribution equipment
Highly experienced with MS office products
Awareness of new technical developments and ability of applying new knowledge to the processes in place at REG
Advanced use of CMMS, specifically the ability to create WO’s, model WO’s, BOM’s, create/ modify assets, PM frequencies, etc.
High school diploma of equivalent
A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience working in turnarounds, maintenance or equipment repair and a minimum of Two (2) years’ planning and scheduling experience in a maintenance, shutdown and/or project planning is required
General knowledge of maintenance planning tools
Knowledge of resource loading and scheduling
Preferred Qualifications:
Journeyman’s certificate or related technical diploma
Demonstrated strengths in organizational, planning and resourcing skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
