Purpose of the Position
The Pre-Owned Vehicle Manager oversees used vehicle retail and wholesale operations. Core duties include acquiring and marketing inventory, managing reconditioning cycles, coaching the sales team for maximum production, accurately appraising trades, and ensuring timely inventory disposition.

Qualifications
- Proven track record in automotive retail management, specifically in pre-owned vehicle operations
- Strong knowledge of certified pre-owned programs and the used vehicle market
- Familiarity with F&I processes and related incentives
- Proficiency with relevant software platforms (CRM, vAuto, DMS)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Ability to accurately appraise trades
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all used vehicle sales and handle any customer concerns
- Acquire and accurately appraise vehicles to ensure fair trade values and profitable deals
- Manage pre-owned inventory, including reconditioning and merchandising
- Coach, train, and motivate sales staff on certified programs and used vehicle best practices
- Monitor pre-owned internet leads and ensure timely, professional follow-up
- Collaborate with the Vehicle Exchange Coordinator for smooth inventory transitions
- Collect and reconcile wholesale receivables promptly
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state requirements for display vehicles
- Ensure online listings are compelling, accurate, and updated with quality photos
- Partner with lot attendants to keep vehicles market-ready
