We are hiring a Women Infants Children (WIC) Competent Professional Authority (CPA) to join our amazing team in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The heart of public health is the community we work to protect. As a WIC CPA, you will:
- Conducts nutrition and health screening, anthropometric, and hematologic assessment to determine WIC eligibility.
- Develop care plans for high-risk participants.
- Directs, plans, implements and evaluates individual and group nutrition education.
- Responsible for breastfeeding promotion.
- Monitors adherence to Federal and State WIC Regulations and Policies within local agency.
- Assists in establishing program goals and objectives.
- Will assist in response activities as a public health employee.
If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing, nutrition, or dietetics.
- Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian preferred.
- One year of professional work experience in a program that provides services in maternal/child health, women’s health or public health care.
- Knowledge of maternal/child health principles, federal, state and local laws pertaining to healthcare.
- Skill in building partnerships and client referrals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with effective communication both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, apply decision making and motivate others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of participant information following HIPAA regulations.
- CPR Required but can be obtained after employment.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
Pay range between $22.63 - $23.67 per hour
