We are currently looking for an experienced and proficient individual to join our Airport Building and Grounds Maintenance team. Ideal candidates for this position are self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Under basic supervision, performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled maintenance and repair activities, exercises sound judgment, and initiative in monitoring the airport operations, and provides guidance and direction to ensure compliance with safety and security requirements set forth by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Rules; and performs related tasks, as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Exposure to dangerous machinery, extreme weather conditions, excessive noise, and wildlife. May be required to climb ladders; work in trenches; and in confined spaces. You may be required to stand and/or walk, stoop, and bend for long periods. Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Exposure to wide temperature variations, noise vibrations, fumes, grease, machinery and its moving parts, odors, and dust. Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction, communicate verbally, and must be able to be understood. The incumbent will be required to respond to emergencies after regular working hours and on weekends and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Graduation from high school OR GED equivalent AND one year of public works maintenance and repair operations experience, which may also include facilities maintenance, street maintenance, traffic control, or sanitary sewer maintenance; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

DUTIES

  • Conduct airfield facility inspections as specified in FAR Part 139, determining any hazardous conditions which may the airfield unsafe.
  • Inspect fueling facilities, vehicles, navigational aids, and all air facilities
  • Remove foreign objects, document inspection findings, and report conditions to management
  • Issue notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) and coordinate aeronautical activities
  • Prepare various operational reports and records
  • Conduct airfield security inspections as specified in the Airport Security Plan
  • Conduct airfield wildlife inspections and mitigations as specified in the Airport Wildlife Management Plan
  • Monitor individual and vehicle access within the airport operating area (AOA)
  • Observe security violations, and request law enforcement response, when necessary; coordinate appropriate actions of airport security violations with airport management
  • Monitor the AOA and provide guidance and direction to tenants and airport users to ensure compliance with safety and security requirements
  • Review and enforce requirements as outlined in the Airport Security Program, the Airport Certification Manual, and the rules and regulations.
  • Advise tenants and airport users of violations and attempt to diplomatically ensure compliance or report to management
  • Respond to aircraft accidents/incidents and other emergency situations on airport property; coordinate related activities and implement emergency or security plan measures until relieved by proper authority.
  • Performs duties of coworkers, as necessary to ensure continuity of operations during absences. Utilize computer software programs competently
  • Perform airfield pavement maintenance, including asphalt and concrete removal and repair; perform airfield painting, crack, joint sealing, airfield marking, and rubber removal
  • Perform grading and tractor work, including compacting, mowing, erosion control, weed abatement, and herbicide application
  • Perform airfield sweeping and snow removal
  • Perform building maintenance, including changing light bulbs, minor plumbing, painting, wall repairs, stucco repairs, and carpentry
  • Perform basic airfield lighting and electrical repairs
  • Performs minor fence and gate repairs and welding
  • Perform minor repairs and servicing of HVAC units
  • Snow removal\ Operates power tools, vehicles, and equipment
  • Perform basic vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance
  • Escort vendors and contractors to the airport facilities and grounds
  • Landscaping including mowing and tree trimming

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a valid Wyoming “C” class driver’s license or the ability to obtain by the date of hire and maintain throughout the length of employment
  • May require the ability to obtain a Wyoming “B” class Commercial driver’s license
  • Must be able to obtain an airport access badge with driving privileges within thirty days of employment
  • Must be able to pass a security background check

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.59 - $25.08 per hour
