A Day in the Life of a Physical Security Specialist: |
The Physical Security Specialist is responsible for development, implementation, and coordination of physical security program activities. This position oversees physical and related security for all Cheyenne Regional facilities. |
What You Will Do: |

• |
Fulfills responsibilities of security officers and Security Shift Supervisor. |
• |
Provides armed and TASER security response strictly following established Use-of-Force Continuum. |
• |
Conducts off-hours physical security inspections and monthly security checks of lighting, alarms, call boxes, and camera functionality. |
• |
Identifies program issues and potential negative situations. Develops potential solutions and presents information to Security Program Manager. |
• |
Review reports and situations for negative findings. |
• |
Develop and maintain facility competency tasks. |
• |
Provides employee involvement and security awareness education and workshop opportunities. |
• |
Manages site master schedule and daily schedule of assigned Security personnel. |
• |
Manages badge access system and conducts quarterly sensitive security area audits. |
• |
Creates employee/contractor badges when necessary. |
• |
Oversees physical security functions and system updates/maintenance. |
• |
Participates on facilities committees, interfaces with appropriate departments, and interacts with Cheyenne Regional leaders to implement physical security initiatives. |
• |
Collaborates with security system integration vendor to schedule routine maintenance and new or existing projects. |

What You Will Need: |

High school diploma (or Equivalent Certificate from an accredited program) or higher degree |
• |
Valid USA driver’s license |
• |
Must have clean driving record that follows Cheyenne Regional Medical Center’s driving guidelines |
• |
Must pass psychological examination |
• |
60 Days: CPI training w/in 60 days of start date |
• |
18 Months: International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic, Advanced, Supervisor and Safety Certification within 18 months of start date |
Nice to Have: |

• |
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field |
• |
One (1) or more years of experience in healthcare security |
• |
One (1) or more years of supervisory experience |
