Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
We are seeking a Grants Manager, reporting directly to the Director of Finance, and indirectly to the Chief Financial Officer, and is a vital member of the Development team responsible for leading the grant-seeking strategy. The grants manager is responsible for the management of the grant-funding administration of Chicago Family Health Center, this includes creating competitive applications and their processes, shepherding grants from proposal to payment declination and closure.
Your skills in writing, data analysis, program budgeting, and project management will be essential in fulfilling your duties. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Development and Communications to collaborate on securing funding, and the Chief Financial Officer to ensure compliance with grant requirements.

Responsibilities
Grants Management
- Manage and maintain Chicago Family Health Center’s daily, monthly, quarterly and annual grants processes to ensure proper authorization, funding and timely payment of grants.
- Work closely with supporting organization staff in the management and disbursement of delegated grants processing such as the Grants Accountant.
- Manage, maintain and deliver grant-related reporting for both internal and external constituencies.
- Collaborates with the Grants Writer to create the grant-seeking strategy and fundraising goals.
- Maintains, cultivates, solicits, and stewards a portfolio of public (Government) and private foundation and corporate gift sources.
- Works closely with staff to identify organizational needs and priorities to develop funding requests, proposals, and opportunities to secure support for CFHC programs, services, and organizational capacities.
- With the director of operations, ensure compliance with relevant tax laws governing the Foundation’s grants and source of funding.
- Remain up to date on community foundation and nonprofit best practices, grant-making guidelines and regulations, and manage and recommend changes for new and existing grant-making policies, including the incorporation of new tax and charitable contribution laws.
- Responsible for the annual submission of the organization’s FTCA re-deeming application.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- Minimum of demonstrated three (3) years of experience in grant writing
- Quality knowledge of the principles and practices of grant preparation and administration, plus working knowledge of the sources of funding required.
- Exceptional overall writing skills; excellent organization skills.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, working independently and in collaboration to support quality written materials.
- Strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment while handling sensitive and confidential materials.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge.
- Adaptability to work under pressure, constantly changing priorities, and strict deadlines
