Description
Basic Function:
This position will compile, maintain inventory and status information to expedite movement of castings between production areas. This position will also be responsible for communicating with customers to ensure that all deliveries arrive on time and will be required to report any pending deliveries to management. This position will also assist as needed at month-end with shipping duties.
General Responsibilities:
- Direct labor employees will need to accurately scan in and out of jobs and report the proper processed quantities.
- Wear proper safety equipment; keep the work area clean and safe at all times.
- Understand customer requirements, our company’s internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, the impact they have on your job and demonstrate the ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
- Review & inspect all material being used, building self-inspection into everything you make/process.
- Complete, date and sign-off on all routing information & records associated with job responsibilities.
- Perform job tasks in an efficient manner according to given standards.
- Follow and understand all procedures related to doing the job.
- Communicate any problems to supervisors.
- Assist with all other duties as assigned.
Parts Expediter Responsibilities:
- Work with management of each department and master planner on workflow; shipping priorities; monitoring of customer critical parts.
- Maintain communication with customers to ensure all order are received and delivered on time.
- Review production schedules and inventory reports to determine available stock and order priority.
- May assist with cycle count & reconciliation.
- Update jobs with purchase orders and pick dates; update JobBOSS as required.
- Process Return Material Authorization (RMA's) to scheduling system.
- Confers with production supervisors to determine status of assigned parts.
- Will assist shipping with month end packaging, boxing & shipping activities.
- Verify that part number and casting quantity match the traveler.
- Review traveler to verify that date and signoffs are complete.
- All other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Skills:
- Excellent Microsoft computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self Starter; able to work with minimal supervision
- System database experience, preferred
Experience:
1-2 years of related experience and/or training
