Chicago Marriott Northwest, nestled in the northwest suburbs off I90 Toll Road and Route 59, just 30 minutes outside of Chicago. Our hotel is the perfect commute and work-home away from home base for suburban, urban and even farm country dwellers.

Barista at M Club - Key Responsibilities

As a Barista at M Club at our Chicago Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates, you will play a crucial role in creating a memorable first impression for our guests. Your engaging personality and exceptional customer service skills will contribute to our goal of providing guests with an unforgettable experience. Your key responsibilities will include:

Beverage Preparation:

• Brewing coffee using various methods (espresso, drip, pour-over).
• Making specialty coffee drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.).
• Preparing and serving tea, hot chocolate, and other beverages.
• Using and maintaining coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers.

Customer Service:

• Greeting customers and taking orders.
• Providing recommendations and answering questions about the menu.
• Processing payments and handling cash transactions.
• Ensuring a positive and friendly customer experience.

Workspace Maintenance:

• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including the counter, equipment, and surrounding areas.
• Restocking supplies and ensuring adequate inventory.
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment after use.

Other Tasks:

• Preparing food items (e.g., pastries, sandwiches) if the establishment offers them.
• Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as bussing tables or stocking supplies.

Barista at M Club - Skills & Qualifications

• Customer Service Skills: Friendly, approachable, and able to handle customer inquiries and requests. Able to provide white glove top notch service to our Elite Marriott Bonvoy exclusive members who enjoy the private luxury access only at M Club.
• Beverage Knowledge: Familiar with different types of coffee, tea, and other beverages, as well as brewing methods.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in using coffee equipment and operating point-of-sale systems.
• Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and team members.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Teamwork: Able to collaborate effectively with other staff members.
• Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
