The After-School Middle School Musical Theater Teacher is responsible for leading engaging and educational theater activities for students in grades 6-8. This position involves teaching acting, singing, and movement while directing students in rehearsals and performances. The teacher will foster a fun, inclusive environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and confidence in young performers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Teach fundamental acting, vocal, and movement techniques to middle school students.
- Lead warm-ups, improvisation games, and performance exercises to build students’ skills and confidence.
- Guide students in script reading, character development, and stage presence.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their performance abilities.
Student Engagement & Support:
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel encouraged to participate.
- Encourage teamwork, responsibility, and creative expression.
- Work with students of varying skill levels and backgrounds, ensuring each student has a meaningful role.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate program expectations and performance details clearly.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Theater, Musical Theater, Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Prior experience teaching or directing middle school students in musical theater productions.
- Skills:
- Strong acting, vocal, and movement skills.
- Excellent classroom management and ability to engage middle schoolers.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
