The vision of Habitat for Humanity is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. It is meant to be a hand-up, not a hand-out, in that the new homeowner is asked to spend a significant number of hours working on his or her new home and will be asked to repay a loan for the cost of the home.
ABOUT DUPAGE & CHICAGO SOUTH SUBURBS HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
The DuPage and Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity provides decent affordable housing to those in need who either reside in the state of Illinois, specifically in DuPage County and Chicago South Suburbs. Headquartered in Wheaton and Oak Forest, the affiliate has served over 300 families since its inception and has plans to grow in capacity to serve over 40 additional families per year.
DHFH/CSS operates under the umbrella of HFHI, but is solely responsible for funding its operation, choosing partner families, constructing, or rehabbing homes and ensuring the success of its partner families in DuPage County and Chicago South Suburbs.
The Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for the cultivation, retention, and growth of corporate partners at DuPage and Chicago South Suburbs Habitat for Humanity.
This individual will work under the direction of the Director of Development, helping to identify new corporate partners in DuPage and the Chicago South Suburbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Identify, build, and maintain relationships in the corporate community within DuPage & the Chicago South Suburbs and develop partnerships with this community to provide financial and volunteer support
o Lead all fundraising efforts in the corporate community, including build day sponsorships, organizational gifts, employee giving, and special event sponsorship opportunities
o Develop appeal letters, solicitation materials, and other communication pieces tailored for the corporate community
o Maintain donor records with updated contact information, meeting notes, and other key information; producing necessary fundraising reports (experience in Raiser’s Edge is preferred)
o Cultivate, retain, and grow corporate partners through donations, sponsorships, employee giving, gifts in kind, grants, and mission support
o Research corporations and businesses in the Chicago South Suburbs as part of a portfolio of potential corporate partners
· Support the design, implementation, and outreach for a specific portfolio of prospects, and prepare written materials and requests in keeping with Department standards
· Manage planning and logistics for cultivation and recognition programs and events to deepen relationships with current corporate partners and prospects
· Serve as an ambassador within the corporate community
o Attend various corporate community meetings and chamber events
o Expand Habitat for Humanity’s sphere of influence in the larger corporate and foundation community of Southern Cook County
· The ability to travel throughout southern Cook County, DuPage County, and the Chicagoland area is required.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education and/or Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, business, communications, marketing, nonprofit management, civic leadership, public management, or closely related field preferred. Direct, applicable experience can be substituted to satisfy degree requirements.
· Minimum of two years of experience in development, donor relations, nonprofit management, or fundraising capacity
· Personal volunteer experience and commitment to volunteerism in community service
Competencies/Skills:
· Outstanding teamwork and collaboration skills
· Demonstrated communications and public speaking skills
· Experience with donor database tools, preferably The Raiser’s Edge
· Experience with special events and peer-to-peer fundraising
· Expertise in Microsoft Office products
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High level of organization and attention to detail and accuracy
· Propensity to be a self-starter
· Ability to work under pressure; meet multiple deadlines and set priorities
· Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively within a diverse community and engage the community and corporate leaders
