The Head Equipment Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of all soccer-related equipment and gear for the team. This includes ensuring that all players and technical staff have the necessary equipment for training and matches, coordinating logistics for travel, and maintaining inventory systems. The Head Equipment Manager will play a critical role in the team's daily operations, ensuring that everything from jerseys to training equipment is in top condition and ready for use. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of soccer-specific equipment, including boots, balls, and training gear, as well as a deep understanding of how each item contributes to player performance and safety. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, professional sports environment.
Responsibilities include :
- Oversee the inventory and maintenance of all soccer equipment, including jerseys, boots, training gear,
balls, and other team-related gear.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory system, ensuring sufficient stock of equipment andgear at all times.
Monitor equipment usage and ensure proper care and repair of all gear, minimizing waste anddamage.
Supervise the preparation and setup of all equipment for training, home, and away games, includinguniforms, training gear, and player-specific equipment.
Oversee equipment packing, transportation, and unloading for away games, ensuring safe andefficient handling.
Stay informed on new equipment technologies and trends to provide recommendations for upgradesor improvements.
Manage the equipment budget, ensuring that all purchases stay within the approved financial limits.Research and negotiate with suppliers to source quality equipment at the best prices.Act as the main point of contact for all equipment-related matters between coaching staff, players, andmanagement.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to anticipate and address equipment needs for training andmatches.
Communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and other departments to ensure the smooth flow ofoperations.
Ensure that players, coaches, and technical staff have the proper equipment and gear, addressing anyspecial requests or unique needs.
Collaborate with designated Front Office staff about gear availability and distribution.Oversee fitting and distributing player gear, including custom or personalized items (e.g., cleats,jerseys).
Respond promptly to any equipment-related issues or emergencies.Manage branding / pressing of all gear and equipment.Qualifications :
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in equipment management, preferably in professional sports orsoccer.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meetdeadlines.
Proficiency in inventory management systems and software tools.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with coaches, players, and other staffmembers.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high equipment andteam resources standards.
A proactive attitude, with the ability to anticipate and address equipment needs before they arise.Ability to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for training sessions, matches,and travel.
