What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Operations Staff position at Chicago White Sox?
OVERVIEW:
We are looking to expand our full-time Park Operations team. Your primary focus in this role is to support all aspects of the 24/7 operations coverage at Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, including both non-game days and game days. The primary focus of this role is monitoring, patrolling, and controlling access to Rate Field. You will also assist in overseeing all facility safety, security, and operational protocols. This role provides key support functions within the operations department, including communicating information, and providing direction and support to all guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
· Function as liaison to the park/organization while providing professional and superior great customer service.
· Provide physical and visual support presence in order to facilitate the ballpark 24/7/365.
· Operate the Visitor Management System (Lobby Guard) to ensure all guests are checked in, while providing proper access and directions to areas for entering/ exiting.
· Enforce and uphold all Ballpark & MLB policies and procedures during normal/non business hours.
· Monitor the CCTV system and Alarm Systems (Fire, Door Access, Pumps, Generators), including elevators and escalators.
· Conduct routine and detailed security rounds/tours by foot, bicycle, and or golf cart, throughout the property (interior and exterior) with special attention to any security issues or maintenance problems.
· Thoroughly inspect and screen employees, contractors, bags, etc., using hand held wands, walk through magnetometers, and/or X-Ray machine.
· Maintain a daily shift summary report on all shift details, activities, observations, and incidents.
· Assist with any departmental administrative tasks as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
· College Degree preferred, concentration in Logistics, Criminal Justice, Recreational Management, or other related discipline.
· 1-2 years of full-time experience in facility operations; sports or arena venue experience preferred.
· Must be available to work all shifts (24/7), weekends and holidays (as scheduled)
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
· Possess effective communication skills, both verbal and written
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
· Ability to perform all aspects of the job including during inclement weather and/or during off peak hours.
· Ability to operate a two-way radio, use of tour system app (iPhone)
· Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills; must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external vendors and guests.
· Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.
· Ability to speak Spanish, both verbal and written a plus
· Must have valid driver’s license in good standing and be able/prepared to operate motor vehicles.
· Knowledge of White Sox baseball a plus
Compensation:
· $22/hour
