Overview
As the Fleet Safety and DOT Compliance Sr. Specialist, you will assist in the development and implementation of the Chick-fil-A Supply ™ DOT Compliance programs within the Safety, Quality and Compliance (“SQC”) function. Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing of Driver files and applicant information to meet D.O.T. regulations and company policies
- Identify and decrease redundancy in the onboarding DQ file review process
- Manage all aspects of the drug & alcohol program
- Coordinate drug screens, testing & physicals
- Maintain and audit for FMCSA compliance
- All other compliance support as needed
- Project management as needed to include, development, training and implementation
- Exercise quality management practices and reviews of all internal and external processes and systems affecting all departmental procedures
- Administer programs to assist in regulatory compliance; drug and alcohol, physical, annual reviews, etc.
- Data integrity
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation operations and driver files comply with DOT regulations and company policies
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver qualifications, hours of service, vehicle maintenance, and other compliance-related documentation
- Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with DOT standards. Address any violations or discrepancies promptly
- Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as needed. Monitor and analyze compliance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaboration: Work closely with the operations team, drivers, and talent to ensure a culture of safety and compliance
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- 1 work experience required or the equivalent in a Transportation or Fleet Safety and Compliance roles
- Experience with regulatory agencies
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Self-starter able to work independently or in a group, adapt to shifting priorities, and who enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
- Ability to communicate well with team members and leaders to meet goals and deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and drive execution across multiple priorities
- Excellent at thoughtful and responsive communication - written, verbal and as a presenter
- Excellent at establishing, building and maintaining functional working relationships
- Experience driving clarity in ambiguous situations/environments
- Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail
- Willingness to grow and take on new responsibilities, including identification of better ways of working
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications including Microsoft Project (or Smartsheet or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 years of work experience in DOT compliance with a degree or 3 years with no college degree
- 3 years experience in a Transportation or Fleet Safety and Compliance roles
- In-depth understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
