The Chico Area Recreation & Park District is searching for energetic, responsible individuals who are serious about having fun! We have part time, flexible jobs that are perfect for college students or anyone who has experience and is interested in making a difference in kids' lives.
After School Program Recreation Leaders will assist children in grades 1-5 with academics, plan and facilitate structured activities, and create a safe and fun environment. We are looking for applicants who enjoy and have experience working with children, are energetic, positive role models, responsible, and have strong group management skills. Applicants must be able to work independently with a group of 15 children and ensure their wellbeing.
Employment Dates: The 2024/2025 school year runs through June 6, 2025. Employees have the opportunity to return for following semesters.
Schedule: Work hours are Monday through Friday from 2:00-5:45pm. We are currently hiring substitute Recreation Leaders and substitutes are not required to be available all days. The substitute Recreation Leader position is an “on call” position and hours are not guaranteed. Substitutes will be called to cover for permanently scheduled Recreation Leaders when they need a day off. When permanent placement positions come available, substitutes will be offered the positions. This happens throughout the school year, especially at the semester change.
Work Locations: After School Programs are located at elementary schools in Chico.

Please note, new employees can expect to start at Step 1, or $16.50/hr.
